Shuttle flight director to speak Wednesday night in Dayton
DAYTON — Paul Dye, a NASA official who is shuttle director at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, will speak at the Dayton Engineers Club on Wednesday at 7 p.m. about his experiences with the nation’s shuttle program.
Dye has participated in 37 missions as a shuttle flight director, and nine as lead flight director. He has served as flight director for all flights of the joint U.S.-Russian shuttle Mir project.
After the shuttle Columbia’s airborne disintegration over Texas in 2003, he coordinated the search for shuttle debris.
