Dr. Chris McKay of NASA Ames returns to the show.
Dr. Christopher P. McKay, Planetary Scientist with the Space Science Division of NASA Ames. Chris received his Ph.D. in AstroGeophysics from the University of Colorado in 1982 and has been a research scientist with the NASA Ames Research Center since that time.

His current research focuses on the evolution of the solar system and the origin of life. He is also actively involved in planning for future Mars missions including human exploration. Chris been involved in research in Mars-like environments on Earth, traveling to the Antarctic dry valleys, Siberia, the Canadian Arctic, and the Atacama desert to study life in these Mars-like environments. He was a co-I on the Titan Huygen’s probe in 2005, the Mars Phoenix lander mission in 2008, and the Mars Science Laboratory mission for 2011. He was the deputy program scientist for Constellation – the NASA program for future human exploration of the Moon and Mars

Douglas Messier is Managing Editor of ParabolicArc.com, a daily blog that covers commercial space and much more. He is a skilled writer and analyst with more than two decades of experience in covering space exploration and conveying complex scientific and policy issues to the public. Over his varied career, Doug has held a number of positions: analyst at a Fortune 500 company; software tester for a start-up company; manager of distance education at a small, for-profit university; science editor and curriculum developer; biographer of a Mormon missionary; and scriptwriter who has pitched stories to Star Trek. He is the author of Carl: The Biography of William Carl Condie, a 222-page privately published biography of a beloved grandfather.  Douglas resides in Silicon Valley, where he serves as Director of Testing, Communications and Social Outreach for an entrepreneurial software company. He is a graduate of the International Space University Summer Session Program and the George Washington University, where he studied under John Logsdon at the Space Policy Institute. He has an undergraduate degree in journalism.

Elliot Pulham, CEO of The Space Foundation comes to the program.
Elliot Pulham is the chief executive officer of the Space Foundation, the nation’s foremost advocate for space exploration and utilization. Based in Colorado Springs, the Space Foundation is a leader in space awareness, space research and analysis, space-themed educational programs, events that bring the space community together and space advocacy. Before joining the Space Foundation, Pulham was with Boeing, serving as spokesperson at the Kennedy Space Center for the Magellan, Galileo and Ulysses interplanetary missions, among others. Widely quoted by national, international, and trade media on space issues, Pulham is the recipient of many awards and honors, including the coveted Space Communicator Award, an honor he shares with the late legendary CBS News Anchor Walter Cronkite and former CNN News Anchor Miles O’Brien. He serves on many national boards and advisory councils and is a frequent speaker at space conferences.

Jim Lewis of Communications Concepts returns to the show to discuss his latest deep space transmission project which his company is dong. .
Jim Lewis of the Deep Space Communication Network. Jim Lewis is Vice President and General Manager of Communications Concepts, Inc. and Managing Director of Deep Space Communications Network. Jim founded in CCI in 1978 and DSCN in January 2005. He has over 30 years direct professional experience in the audio visual production industry. He has produced and directed over 175 film, video and web projects for a variety of clients including government agencies (EPA, U.S. Navy, NASA), corporations (ILS/Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Orbital Sciences, Sea Launch, Harris, Spacehab, Piper Aircraft, Canaveral Port Authority, United Space Alliance), travel and leisure companies (Greyhound Leisure, Disney Cruise lines, Delaware North KSC Visitor’s Complex), sports (ESPN, Sunshine Network, Fox Sports, ABC), and entertainment (Real TV, NBC/Hearst Broadcasting, MTM and Univision). Jim’s projects have won numerous awards including ADDY Awards, FMPTA Crystal Reel Awards including Best Corporate Video in the state of Florida and an Emmy for CCI’s work on the John Glenn Shuttle Launch. Jim is very active in the local community having served on the Space Coast Office of Tourism Board and the Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce as a Trustee. He chaired major fund raising events for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Hospital Foundations, Special Olympics and the American Cancer Society.
